Taylor Swift: 'I can't wear a dress twice'
Tue Nov 13, 2012
I will chalk this up to immaturity. Swift needs to realize that in this day and age, when people are struggling to make ends meet, making a statement like this can damage or even ruin a career. She comes across like a spoiled little girl, and that can be detrimental. My daughters lover her music.
Red Cross pushes back on Sandy response, calls it 'near flawless'
Sun Nov 11, 2012
It is the Christian relief organizations that are there first and stay around till the end. There are still Christian churches helping in the Gulf Coast 7 years after Katrina.
Teachers unions show renewed strength in wake of elections
Thu Nov 8, 2012
Unions were once needed in this country to protect workers. Now we have numerous laws in our country protecting workers rights and we no longer need unions. Unions own California and the Democratic party. They are now like Mafia thugs, shaking down their members for their own political power.
3 ways to get rid of the worst kind of body fat
Thu Nov 8, 2012
These types of articles are maddening. They do not take into account that every person is unique and different, and pat answers like this don't always work. I have hypo-thyroidism, and am in the throws of menopause. It is a lose/lose situation for me.
Dorothy's 'Wizard of Oz' dress could fetch $500K at auction
Thu Oct 25, 2012
It is an iconic dress from one of Hollywood's most beloved movies. Marilyn Monroe's white dress from "Seven Year Itch" sold for $4 million. I think this dress will sell for a lot more than $500,000.
Work out harder, not longer, to boost heart health
Tue Oct 23, 2012
Sounds good. My husband believes you need a good 1 hour workout to make a difference.
Babytalk anxiety: Those first little words cause big stress for parents
Mon Nov 5, 2012
99% of parents should just leave their kids alone and let them develop at their own pace. It's bad enough that we force 3 year old's into pre-school when they aren't mature enough for that kind of social interaction. Let kids be kids and go with your gut.
Diet soda is doing these 7 awful things to your body
Fri Oct 19, 2012
Sodas in general are bad for you. I recently had a bone density test done, and the nurse was shocked. For a woman my age (early 50's), she was surprised at how dense my bones were - she called them "man bones". She asked me if I drank soda and I said no.
'Downton' effect: Lingerie brand sells out after show mention
Mon Oct 15, 2012
This show is fantastic. Maggie Smith has the BEST one-liners in the entire series. The women look classy - not the trampy, skanky stuff that young women wear today.
Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. under federal investigation over alleged financial improprieties
Fri Oct 12, 2012
Jesse Jackson Jr. has no business running for re-election. He is under investigation, and has supposedly been sideswiped all of a sudden with bipolar disorder. I have lots of friends who are bipolar, and once they got their meds straight, they were just fine.
Questions & Answers
Baby bikini onesie: Funny or infuriating?
It's offensive and in poor taste. We're talking about a baby!
I have counseled sexual abuse victims for years. Anyone who thinks that this is harmless is not being very wise.
The 'having it all' debate: What do you think?
Both; it's a two-way street.
I have been a working mom and a stay at home mom. I had to work full-time when my 2 oldest were 3 and 1. We lived in San Diego, which is VERY expensive, and there was no way we could live on 1 income. My youngest daughter learned to walk at day care, and that broke my heart.
